“I’m simply doing our job of keeping the city clean… We have a city ordinance against all forms of vandalism and unauthorized billboards and tarpaulins. If you will remember, during last year’s observance of Undas, I had all the tarps of politicos removed from the Manila North Cemetery. I did the same last Christmas and at all fiestas, even if they happen to be party mates,” sabi ni Mayor Isko.
Magugunita na kinuwestiyon ni Lt. General Antonio Parlade ang naging hakbang ni Mayor Isko sa mga nasabing tarpaulins.
“I dont know who ordered it and Im not privy to latest decision of NTF ELCAC on this. But, why not? 96 cities nationwide already declared the CPP NPA as PNG so my question really is WHY JUST NOW in MManila? Why would even Manila order the removal of this tarps? Is Mayor Isko welcoming this terrorist? Lets clarify from Yorme the basis for his action? Is it fear of retribution?
Lets take a look at the leadership of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila. From Pres down, mostly Gabriela and staff of Taguiwalo booted out of DSWD. Who has the appointing power and authority in this university?
Yes, Mayor. Lets give peace a chance in Manila. Keep the terrorist CPP NPA NDF out of it,” banat ni Parlade.
Para naman sa kalihim ng Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) na si Eduardo Añno, walang siyang nakikitang masama sa mga anti-NPA tarpaulins.
“The expressions of sentiment against CPP/NPA/NDF atrocities are free speech and are legally protected under the Constitution. Remember, these are the terrorists’ groups driven by an archaic ideology who have been killing our police and soldiers and extorting from innocent civilians for the past 50 years. It is just right that people denounce them for their crimes against the people… If you are not a member of the CPP/NPA/NDF [Communist Party of the Philippines, New People’s Army, and the National Democratic Front], then you have nothing to worry about. How can these be “red-tagging” when they are Communists or Reds by their own admission… I believe these tarpaulins are mere expressions of citizens or certain groups that they are fed up with abuses and atrocities perpetrated by the CPP/NPA/NDF. I welcome such kind of expression to send the message to the CPP/NPA/NDF that they are not welcome in the national capital region, just like what other provinces, cities, and municipalities all over the country,” paliwanag naman ni DILG Sec. Año.
