ICC, Nakita ang ‘Reasonable Basis’ na may Nangyaring Crimes Against Humanity sa Drug War ni PDU30!

Naglabas na ng pahayag ang International Criminal Court (ICC) ukol sa pagsisiyasat nila sa war on drugs na sinimulan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte. Ayon sa ICC, may nakita sila “reasonable basis” na mayroong nangyayaring crimes against humanity sa pagpapatupad sa kampanya kontra-droga ng Duterte Administration.

“The Office is satisfied that information available provides a reasonable basis to believe that the crimes against humanity of murder, torture and the infliction of serious physical injury and mental harm as other inhumane Acts were committed on the territory of the Philippines between at least 1 July 2016 and 16 March 2019, in connection to the [war on drugs] campaign launched throughout the country… The Court retains jurisdiction over alleged crimes that have occurred on the territory of the Philippines during the period when it was a State Party to the Statute, namely from 1 November 2011 up to and including 16 March 2019,” patutsada ni ICC Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda.

Agad naman nagbigay ng reaksyon si former Commission on Human Rights (CHR) chairperson Etta Rosales sa naging pahayag ng ICC. Sisingilin daw si Pangulong Duterte dahil sa pagpapatupad ng madugong war on drugs.

“Dapat managot sa batas, may kabayaran ang lahat, Mr. Duterte. Ito ang paulit-ulit na paalala sa kaniya sa simula pa lang ng termino niya. Ang laha na dumanak na dugo, balang araw ay sisingilin din sa kaniya. Ito na ang panahong iyon,” boladas ni Rosales.

Giit naman ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque na kumalas na ang Pilipinas sa ICC, kaya hindi na nito sakop ang ating bansa.

“That’s speculative. But in any case, gawin nila ang gusto nilang gawin. Sinabi na natin na hindi natin kinikilala ang jurisdiction ng ICC,” resbak ng tagapagsalita ng Pangulo.
