Uumpisahan na sa Nobyembre ang konstruksyon ng Malolos-Clark Railway Project, ayon sa Department of Transportation. (DOTr)
Ang naturang linya ng tren ay kayang tumakbo ng 160 kilometro kada oras. Kakayanin daw nito bumiyahe mula Malolos patunging Clark sa loob lang ng 30 hanggang 35 minuto.
Target ng ahensiya na maging partial operational ang linya sa 2023.

“This is the NORTH-SOUTH COMMUTER RAILWAY (NSCR) PROJECT.
Under the Duterte Administration’s “Build, Build, Build,” Program, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Philippine National Railways (PNR) paves the way for a mega railway network with a mammoth 148-km route length, 37 stations and 464 train cars.
The project is co-financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
This mega railway system that stretches across 26 cities and municipalities within the three regions of Central Luzon, National Capital Region, and CALABARZON is expected to serve over 830,000 passengers day once fully operational, with a space to expand the capacity to millions daily, in the future.
The NSCR encompasses three railway projects, including the PNR Clark Phase 1 (Tutuban – Malolos), which is a 38-km. rail line that will connect Tutuban, Manila to Malolos, Bulacan, reducing travel time from approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to just 35 minutes. The segment, which now stands at 40.48% completion rate, is targeted to be partially operable by December 2021.
Another segment is the PNR Clark Phase 2 (Malolos-Clark), a 54-km rail line leg—which will connect Malolos, Bulacan to Clark International Airport. Once partially operable by 2022, travel time will be trimmed down to just 30-35 minutes, from the original 1 hour and 30 minutes. This leg, which is now 27.07% completed, will also feature the country’s first airport rail express.
Just today, the three (3) remaining contract packages for the segment have been officially signed, which will complete the five (5) civil works packages needed for the commencement of the project’s construction.
Lastly, the PNR Calamba (Solis-Calamba), which is 56-km. leg that will run from Solis, Manila to Calamba, . Once partially operable by 2024, travel time will be shortened to 1 hour, from 3 hours. The segment now stands at 20.42% progress rate, with ROW acquisition and procurement for civil works packages currently ongoing.”
