“Why do we need to prohibit our officials from political activities outside of Davao City? Because traveling for non-essential purposes is a cause for caution because it poses a danger to the health of the traveler because of the pandemic, because of the virus… hose travelers from other places with many cases, those are the people who could possibly bring the virus here,” sabi ni Mayor Sara.
Ayon pa sa presidential daughter, hindi kasama ang political activity sa mga “essentials” na itinakda ng Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).
“A political activity is non-essential for travel. And a political activity usually gathers people together. I have never seen any political activity where there are no people gathering around, so (it’s a) mass gathering. So the risk for transmission of the virus is higher,” dagdag pa ng alkalde.
Magugunita na isinailalim ni Mayor Sara ang ilang barangay officials na nakisali sa “Run Sara Run” event sa Maynila.
“If it is about ‘Run, Sara, Run, they will not listen to me. If you won’t talk to them, they don’t care at all. And if you’ll talk to them and reprimand them, they’ll just say ‘peace ma’am.’ Now all I have to do is quarantine them to teach them a lesson… During the weekend, I reached out to them because I cannot stand it anymore. I asked them if they are fine and told them that I will send some assistance for their food and gasoline. I extended my support and told them that they will undergo quarantine when they come home in Davao,” sabi ni Mayor Sara.
