Nagbabalak maghain ng kaso ang pamilya ni Reina Mae Nasino sa naging hakbang ng ureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) at Philippine National Police (PNP) habang binabantayan ang aktibista sa libing at burol ng anak nito.
Ayon sa abogado ng Kampo ni Nasino na si Atty. Sol Taule, tila malahayop daw ang naging trato sa aktibista.
“We will not let pass the grotesque and barbaric acts of the BJMP and the police last October 14 when they attempted to whisk Reina way from the wake; and yesterday when they snatched baby river’s body away from her family. The least we can do is charge them in court for all of this monstrosity. We will not allow them to get away with it,” sabi ni Taule.
“A separate legal team of 5 NUPL women lawyers with 2 law students quickly volunteered to study, recommend and prepare a suit or other legal moves vs. BJMP officials & personnel. We are on case build up stage,” sabi ni Edre Olalia ng National Union of People’s Lawyers.
Umangal din ang leftist personality na si Renato Reyes sa isyu ni Nasino.
“Reina Nasino is a symbol of what is terribly wrong with the Philippine justice system and the government of Rodrigo Duterte. The President’s war on activists has resulted in gross human rights violation… The courts also failed to protect the rights of the arrested activists and political prisoners,” boladas ni Reyes.
Si Nasino ay nahuli ng mga otoridad kasama ang dalawa pang indibiduwal noong 2019 sa Tondo, Maynila. Nakumpiska kina Nasino ang matataas na kalibre na baril at mga pampasabog.
Pinipilit siyang tawagin “aktibista” at “political prisoner” ng ilang mainstream media.
