‘Yun nga, ‘yung sabi sa ‘kin na mag-commute, this has been the challenge. But I will accept, sabihin mo kay Renato Reyes, gusto mo araw-araw kami mag-commute, magkasama kaming dalawa, saan man kami magpunta… The challenge to commute is accepted. This coming Friday I’ll take the jeepney and the LRT in going to work,” sabi ni Presidential Spokesperson sa mga reporters.
“We challenge Duterte, Panelo, Tugade, and Pialago to commute to work every day for a week to experience the hellish reality of our everyday commute,” sabi ni Anakbayan national spokesperson Alex Danday.
“As I said, the daily sufferance of commuters and motorists traversing the road in going to work and returning home or going elsewhere in Metro Manila is a given… Whether you commute or drive, one is subjected to the same vexing inconvenience and delay, as well as the loss of precious time,” banat ni Panelo.
“On claims that the Philippines is in a mass transport crisis
This is in line with recent claims stating that the Philippines is facing a mass transport crisis due to recent subsequent incidents that happened at the LRT-1, LRT-2, and the MRT-3.
The Philippines is 20 years behind in terms of transport infrastructure. This is precisely the reason why since the beginning, the Department of Transportation, under the Duterte administration, has been employing a catch-up plan to expedite the construction and operationalization of various transport infrastructure projects in the aviation, railways, road, and maritime sectors… The accident that happened in LRT-2 is something that is not of our own making, nor of our own liking. But, we encourage our countrymen to resort to ‘bayanihan’ rather than ‘turuan’ o ‘sisihan’…
