Gusto ng mga miyembro ng Makabayan Bloc na alisin ang P19.1-billion proposed budget of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) para sa susunod na taon.
Ayon kay ACT Teachers party-list Rep. France Castro at Kabataan party-list Rep. Sarah Elago dapat daw ilaan na lang sa edukasyon ang pondo para sa NTF-ELCAC.
“If we rechannel just half or one-third of the P19.1 billion for NTF-ELCAC, P6.3 billion to P9.5 billion will go a long way in the production of self-learning modules (SLMs)… Instead of lies, fake news, relentless red-tagging and policies and activities that terrorize the people into silence, the people’s taxes will be spent for the dire needs of teachers and students in the blended mode of learning… The country was devastated by the past typhoons, most especially those located in the hardest-hit areas where learning modules are soaked, damaged and torn into pieces. More storms and disasters are sure to come and DepEd and the Duterte government must never adopt the thinking that schools and teachers should take the ‘initiative’ in dealing with these,” sabi ni Rep. Castro.
Ang pagtatangka ng mga makakaliwang kongresista na harangin ang pondo ng NTF-ELCAC ay matagal nang inalmahan ni Lt. Gen. Antonio Parlade.
“How difficult is that if you say you are not communists? Let’s end this hypocrisy now, with or without budget. We have been challenging you for a debate even before the creation of the NTF ELCAC. What do you stand to loose if you take the challenge. Lets pursue the truth behind all your attacks and opposition to NTF ELCAC… If you have been exposed and now feels threatened, dont blame us and dont put on hostage our agencies budget. They will be used to provide services to the marginalized sectors you have exploited, so we can END INSURGENCY and CONFLICT,” banat ni Parlade noong Septyembre.
Ang gusto mangyari ng Makabayan Bloc ay siya ring gustong mangyari ni opposition senator Risa Hontiveros.
